Town festival across three days: attractions for a changing crowd

Teenagers on Friday night, families on Saturday, a mixed crowd on Sunday — three days, one build, three very different audiences.

A town festival in the centre, Friday to Sunday, on the open space between market square and pedestrian zone. Audience and time of day change noticeably over the weekend — the modules stay put, the staffing shifts.

A build made for three days

Bull riding, bungee trampoline and a children’s carousel on the main area, plus a speed radar as an eye-catcher towards the pedestrian zone. Everything is set up for continuous operation: build on Thursday, a visual and functional check before opening each day, dismantling on Monday morning.

Staffing by time of day

On Friday evening the bungee trampoline runs almost non-stop, from Saturday midday everything shifts towards the carousel, on Sunday it is mixed. Staff were scheduled accordingly rather than spread evenly across the day.

What we took away

Crowd-pullers do not belong side by side: bull riding and bungee trampoline took each other’s queueing space. Ten metres more distance would have untangled both queues.
